Every year, millions of people in the United States are vaccinated against serious illnesses. For some these vaccines cause severe illnesses, injury, permanent disability, or even death.  To compensate victims and avoid lawsuits against doctors or vaccine manufacturers, the government has established the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP), which has paid more than $3.2 billion to compensate victims. Most people who get vaccines have no serious problems. In very rare cases, a vaccine can cause a serious problem, such as a severe allergic reaction.  In these instances, the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) may provide financial compensation to individuals who file a petition and are found to have been injured by a VICP-covered vaccine.  Even in cases in which such a finding is not made, petitioners may receive compensation through a settlement.

Vaccine injury cases require knowledge of a unique area of law. With many types of vaccines and injuries, it may be possible to bring a claim through the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP). Through this federal program, your attorney’s fees will be covered and you can secure compensation for your injuries outside of the court system. If your case falls outside of VICP, you may be able to bring a personal injury claim against the manufacturer of the vaccine.
